This is a 16-week course with 60 hours of learning total, leading to a level 3 qualification with the Institute of Sales Management.

Am I eligible?

For this Skills Bootcamp, you are required to be self employed or under PAYE. No previous knowledge is required.

You must be over the age of 19 to be eligible (born before 31 July 2005).

You must be based in the Somerset Council Authority area. Bath and North East Somerset is excluded. 

All modules are min Level 3 and certificated. You will learn:

  • Winning complex sales
  • Negotiation skills
  • Communication and teamwork skills
  • Customer service and satisfaction
  • Sales strategy and development
  • Sales account management

The course will also provide the following skills and attitude learning:

  • Personal development in the context of the wider business and how their role relates to other roles in the business.
  • Logical and creative thinking skills
  • The ability to interact effectively and professionally with a range of different types of customer
  • Ability to think analytically and to solve problems
  • Ability to work independently and to take responsibility
  • Ability to work with a range of internal and external people
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of situations
  • Ability to operate in a secure manner
  • Can use own initiative
  • A thorough and organised approach
  • Maintain productive, professional and secure working environment

You’ll need a laptop/desktop with a camera, microphone, and reliable internet.

Upon successful completion of the Skills Bootcamp, you will receive a certificate. There are further business support resources locally via the Heart of the West Growth Hub website and nationally via the Business Growth Service website 

If you are self employed you do not need to pay.

If you wish to upskill your own teams, as a business you will contribute a portion of funding (10% for SMEs, 30% for large employers), while the Department for Education covers the rest.
